Getting The Perfect Milk Texture

You'll Need:

Milk
Espresso machine with steam wand
Metal pitcher
Cup with espresso

Flush the steam wand
Turn on the steam wand briefly to remove any water.

Pour the milk
Add about 8 oz of milk into your pitcher.

Position the wand
Place the steam wand slightly below the milk surface at an angle.

Start steaming
Turn on the steam wand and let the milk begin to spin in a whirlpool.

Heat the milk
Continue steaming until the milk reaches about 140°F (60°C).

Turn off the wand
Stop steaming and wipe the wand clean.

Remove bubbles
Tap the pitcher on the counter and swirl the milk until smooth and glossy.

Pour the milk
Pour slowly into the espresso. When the cup is halfway full, lower the pitcher and pour faster to create latte art.
