The Perfect Espresso

You’ll Need:

- 20 g coffee
- Extra-fine grind
- 40 g espresso yield
- 28–32 seconds brew time

1. Preheat the machine
Turn on your espresso machine and let it heat up.

2. Rinse the group head
Run a little water through the machine to clean it.

3. Grind the coffee
Grind 20 g of coffee to a fine consistency.

4. Add coffee to the portafilter
Place the ground coffee in the portafilter and level it.

5. Tamp the coffee
Press down firmly with a tamper to create an even puck.

6. Start brewing
Lock the portafilter into the machine and start the shot. (It should be a honey-like flow)

Note: If it isn't flowing, the grind size is too fine or you tamped too hard. if it's flowing too fast, the grind size is too course or you tamped too soft. you can adjust accordingly

7. Stop at 40 g
The shot should take 28–32 seconds and produce 40 g of espresso.
